По умолчанию Kua questions

I've been practicing what I remember from the seminar I went too. I haven't been able to order my books and stuff yet so I need some tips on how the kua function together.

With the more center weighted stance than I'm use to its harder to work the kua intependently of each other. Do the kua change back and forth between open and close or can the work spereate from each other?

Example:
Left kua is closed right is open and they switch back and forth as you move?

or

Left kua is open or closed and the right kua can be open or closed?

Am I making sense here?

if i understand you correctly i would say it's the latter. right kua opens, left kua closes, etc.

rather than think of them as working independently, you could just look at it as the alternation of yin/yang. yin/yang works together.

Thanks man,
Thats what felt right for the stance but I wasn't sure. In my TCC they work seperate from each other but together. So both could be open or both closed. Its a different stance though. I ordered some materials today so hopefully I won't have to bug you will this amature of a question in the future.

Hi Ben,

This is an important question

Second to the concept of absorb/project is the Kua. With a/p we get an idea of yin on the front of the body absorbing down to the ground and yang on the back of the body projecting up. Doing this movement both the kua close when you absorb and both open when you project, but they are in their mid state or neutral state.
If I then turn to the right then my right kwa is closing and my left is opening, or you could say that the right is getting more yin as the left is getting more yang.
So you're getting a feeling to the balance and movement of yin and yang on the front and back with the balance and movement of yin and yang on left and right. Combined together it produces spiral energy.
At least this is my understanding so far

yeah, the kua is a yin point, so it's always slightly yin.
